This dataset holds two reports related to O le Pupu Pu'e National Park ;

Report one is a summary of the community consultations held on December 11, 2015 to discuss the draft operational plan for the restoration of the O le Pupu Pu’e (OLPP) National Park. The restoration of the OLPP NP is a key activity in the Management Plan for the park.

Report two summarises a review of existing information on the invasive species in the park and to present the results of a short survey of invasive species conducted in the park from Nov 19 to Dec 1, 2015.

Under the GEF- funded project, ‘Integrating climate change risk in the Agriculture and Health Sectors in Samoa’ (ICCRAHS), this report was developed as requested by UNDP on behalf of MNRE, follows a two-day ‘Sector Engagement Workshop’ for MNRE and other Ministry staff. The report:

• summarises key ideas and responses from workshop participants which point to developments in climate services that are needed to fully engage users and enable improved decision making in Samoa;

The main objective of this study were to;

* map the bathymetry of Vaiusu bay dredge sites

* deploy instrumentation to measure water levels ad existing current regimes

* provide an estimate on volumes of materials to be excavated for marina and access channels

This tropical cyclone season 2018 – 2019 highlighted that tropical Cyclone activity for Samoan region is expected to be above normal (elevated) risk with 2-3 cyclones that can pass within 400km radius of the country, with at least 1 tropical cyclone to reach Category 3 or greater.

Strategic Direction 1: ‘To prevent, control and eradicate invasive species in key biodiversity areas’ and in particular 1.2. ‘Control or eradicate invasive species in key biodiversity areas, particularly where they threaten native species with extinction.’

This report supports and complements a separate operational plan for the restoration of the OLPP National Park (Atherton 2015).
